Projects

At the Gulf Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (GA²CI), we are committed to advancing allergy and immunology care across the GCC through collaborative, high-impact research and regionally relevant initiatives.

Samsum Ant Allergy in the Gulf Region

We are undertaking a multicountry survey to evaluate the prevalence and clinical characteristics of Samsum ant allergy across GCC countries. This initiative aims to improve recognition, diagnosis, and management of this important regional allergic condition.

GCC Guidelines for Drug Allergy

GA²CI is leading the development of evidence-based, region-specific guidelines for the diagnosis and management of drug allergies. These guidelines will reflect local epidemiology, healthcare systems, and available treatments, ensuring standardized and practical care across the GCC.

Regional Allergy Atlas

We are developing a comprehensive “Allergy Atlas” to map the prevalence, patterns, and environmental triggers of allergic diseases across the region. This resource will support research collaboration, education, and public health planning.

Olfactory Testing in Allergy Assessment

This initiative explores the role of olfactory (smell) testing as an adjunct in allergy evaluation, particularly in post-COVID patients. It aims to better understand how smell dysfunction may overlap with or mask underlying allergic conditions.

Allergic Rhinitis and Nasal Polyps

We are investigating the clinical and immunological relationship between allergic rhinitis and nasal polyps, with a focus on disease severity, patient outcomes, and implications for targeted therapies, including biologics.

If you are interested in participating in any of these initiatives or collaborating with GA²CI, please reach out to us. We welcome partnerships with clinicians, researchers, and institutions across the GCC.
